Preschool Activities

OPEN HOUSE

An event for the whole family, in conjunction with the church's Fall Festival, in late September.  The children have been busy making pictures that will be displayed on the bulletin boards. Come meet the staff and other parents and children in your child’s class. Let your child show off their school to you.

FAMILY FIELD TRIP TO THIES FARM

Theis FarmEach fall we cancel school for one day and the children and their families meet at this wonderful local farm. There are many play activities for the children. And, being a working farm, there is an opportunity to take a wagon ride through the field to see the fruits and vegetables growing. Then we share a snack together.





PUMPKIN DECORATING WITH DAD

Pumpkin decoratingIn late October, children will bring their dad (or other great friend) and a pumpkin to decorate. We will provide all of the decorating materials and you just need to use your imagination. A special night of fun.


HALLOWEEN PARTIES

Halloween partyWe ask that moms and dads plan and run a party for their child’s class. The children will wear their costume to school for party time and participate in a parade through the church and school.




THANKSGIVING SHARING FEAST

Each child will bring a food item to share at the feast. Some children will dress as Pilgrims and others as Indians as we all sit together for our version of the first Thanksgiving.           
                                                                                        

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

The children will present songs, fingerplays, and handbell ringing to their families (extended family attendance encouraged.) After the program, we will all gather for a Happy Birthday Jesus party.

VALENTINE’S DAY PARTIES

Valentines partyWe again ask that moms and dads plan and run a party for their child’s class.



PANCAKE DINNER

An evening event for the whole family. Pancakes will be provided for everyone. And there will be a professional entertainer to enjoy

EASTER EGG HUNT

We are on the regular route for the Easter Bunny. All of our children hunt for the eggs he leaves us.

GRANDPARENT’S DAY

grandparent's dayWe ask the children to invite their grandparents to come to school for a morning of fun. We begin in the classroom where all will participate in a special craft. The teachers will then gather all for an abbreviated circle time, including songs from the children. Then we go to Chapel Time to hear a special message from our Pastor. What special day is complete without a snack? We have a lavish spread for our special visitors and their loved ones. A memory-making day.

FAMILY FIELD TRIP –  TO PURINA FARMS.

Once again, we ask family members to meet us at our destination. This trip is off the beaten path for most families and so it is a special time for us to share with them. A combination of learning and fun makes for an awesome experience.

MOTHER’S DAY TEA

A lavish celebration of our moms. Each class will host a brunch . Special gifts for mom and special music.

WESTERN DAY

With a lot of help from our parents, we bring horses to school and the children all get to ride.  This is one of the most special and memorable days for the children.

ALL SCHOOL PICNIC

We meet at a local park and spend the day. All families are invited to bring their lunch and play for as long as they like. One of the highlights of the day are the popsicles that we provide.

GRADUATION CEREMONY

For the children in the PreK and JrK classes. All family members are invited to watch the ceremony. The children participate with special music. And of course we have cake and punch afterward.

Each family will contribute a food item and we will gather for a luncheon. A great way to get to know the children in the classroom and their families. Extended family attendance is encouraged.
