Ties that Bind

A quilting group meets every Tuesday. While the group creates large intricate quilts it also creates and distributes dozens of smaller quilts, blankets, health kits, school kits, layettes, etc. to places around the globe through Lutheran World Relief.

Supporting the Ministry at Lord of Life

These days there are several ways of supporting Christ’s Ministry at Lord of Life …

One program that we’ve had for many years is called Simply Giving, and it’s an automated electronic funds transfer program linked to your checking or savings account. There is no administrative charge for you, and it brings solid benefits to our church.

You benefit from being able to share your first fruits with your church on either a weekly, semi-monthly or monthly basis. Lord of Life benefits through a more consistent and predictable flow of offering contributions throughout the church year. Simply Giving greatly reduces the likelihood of bookkeeping, counting or transcription errors, and participants may easily exit the program or adjust their contribution levels at any time. Over 10% of our annual budget is currently funded through members’ participation in this program. Applications for Simply Giving can be found in the Welcome Center and completed forms may be sent to the church office for processing. For more information, please contact the church office at 636-532-0400.

“This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” (2 Cor 9:12-15).

Community Event

Since 1992, Lord of Life has presented a special gift to the surrounding communities: A living drama called Return to Bethlehem.

Our fellowship hall is transformed into the narrow streets of the Bethlehem marketplace. Visitors to the city are presented with a souvenir shekel and given an ancient family name so they may register for the census and enter the city. As they walk through the streets, they experience ancient sights, sounds and smells. lnteract with the shopkeepers, soldiers as they talk about daily life and the rumors about a baby born in a stable. This amazing tour of Bethlehem culminates with a visit to the lowly stable where the Christ child and his parents can be seen.

The free walking tour takes approximately 12minutes and begins every 2-3 minutes. The tour is for all ages, inside and is wheelchair and walker accessible. Free-will offerings will be given to several charities. We are asking visitors to bring a bag of food, which will be given to Circle Of Concern Food Pantry in Fenton.

Reservations are not required unless you are planning to bring a large group. For more information, call 636-532-0400.
